Pedal For Pounds 10.5

We’re proud to announce that we will be title sponsors of Pedals For Pounds 10.5 for the 4th consecutive ride! Pedals for Pounds is a fundraising bike ride for Huddersfield Town FC fans, and this year, it will challenge HTAFC fans to cycle from Huddersfield to Harrogate and back, completing 130 miles. They will return to the John Smith’s Stadium just in time for the last game of the season against Bristol City.

The event will raise money for four amazing local charities: Yorkshire Air AmbulanceThe KirkwoodHuddersfield Town Foundation and Platform 1. The previous Pedal for Pounds instalments has raised over a whopping £2 million for charity so far!

The route on Friday 6th May will have two options - one being a demanding 97 miles and the other will be a gentler 65 miles. The longer route will start at John Smith’s Stadium and see the cyclists ride via Burnsall and head through Kettlewell and Middleham, ending at the accommodation in Harrogate. On Saturday 7th, they will be on a ride from Harrogate to John Smith’s Stadium to return for the kick-off at 12:30.

Dean Hoyle, Chairman of Huddersfield Town, explained:

“Over a decade, Pedal for Pounds has become synonymous with Huddersfield Town. It’s what this club is about and something we can all be proud of. After lockdowns and the pandemic curtailed the last edition, everyone at the club was keen to bring it back as soon as possible!

“A big overseas ride is impractical right now, but seeing everyone together again for this two-day ride through a stunning part of the country will be fantastic. We want to see Pedal for Pounds veterans mixing with some first-timers, and together, we can raise some much-needed funds for four great causes.”

Further details will follow very soon, so stay tuned!
